ALL STARS PAST PROJECTS
Aside from a varied programme of weekly drama workshops the ALL STARS
regularly perform in community projects and end-of-term showcases. Here is a selection of what they've been up
to.

"IT MUST BE LOVE"
Starting with music, the group brought in their
favourite songs - we listened to them, discussed how they made us feel and
explored the images that came up. From there the scenarios started to take shape.
With movement styles from the 1930s to
the 1970s disco era and with emotions from the thrill of falling in
love to the despair of being dumped this show was devised by the group and
performed at the Croydon Clocktower on Wednesday, 15th July 2009.

"THE
OUTDOOR SUMMER STORIES EVENT & THE GIANT PUPPET PROJECT"
On the 20th July 2008, to coincide with the Croydon Contacts annual BBQ, the ALL STARS Drama Group
gave three very special promenade performances at the AWS Leisure Gardens, a community allotments in Croydon. Aside
from invited guests from a number of theatre companies and local organisations, this event was also attended by
The Worshipful Mayor of Croydon. Thanks to a collaboration with SAVVY Theatre Company, members
from the ALL STARS Drama Group, also began working with Di Jones, a visual artist from EMERGENCY EXIT ARTS on the
creation of a giant puppet throughout the summer term. At the end of 6 weeks, the project was completed and the
puppet developed by the group then formed a vital part of their OUTDOOR SUMMER STORIES event.

"THE FALLING STAR"
Inspired by THE DANCERS - a short story by Ted Hughes, the All Stars spent the term devising
their own performance that was performed at the Fairfield Halls on Wednesday, 19th March 2008.
"AN ALL STAR CHRISTMAS CAROL"
Siddown & Shuddup! Who knew the Ghost of Christmas Past could be so bossy! As always this
production was filled with singing, surprises and the music of STEPS! Performed on Wednesday, 5th December 2007
at the Fairfield Halls in Croydon.

"WHO STOLE THE JEWELS"
Mask, music and mayhem is perhaps the best way of describing this wonderfully original show by the ALL
STARS Drama Group. Performed on Wednesday, 4th July 2007 at the Croydon Warehouse Theatre as part of AN
EVENING OF SHARED PERFORMANCE with the SAVVY Young Company and pupils from The Della Academy of Arts.

The ALL STARS drama group enjoyed a wonderful success with their production
of GREASE at the Faifield Halls during the summer of 2006.
This was followed by at Christmas with an original pantomime
production (devised especially to include all their favourite characters and routines), and during the spring
term of 2007 they once again stretched theatrical conventions by combining Shakespeare's A Midsummer Nights
Dream with the disco sounds of ABBA!
This magical comedy
musical was performed at the Fairfield Halls in March and was included in the FESTIVAL OF LEARNING DISABILITIES at
the Croydon Clocktower in May 2007.
